UPDATE

So remember how life always tends to throw you a 'curve ball' or throws you 'through a loop'? Well that's what this last week was. I got sick. Real sick. Like more sick then I have been in probably 10 years! And it sure was horrible.

If only being sick was like this, it wouldn't be so horrible.

I started out really good with my goals, buying lots of healthy food to eat consistently, working out through different activities like a 4-hour session of playing basketball and soccer games on Saturday night, and getting more sleep than is regular. Once I got sick, however, that kind of all went out the door! I had no appetite and probably ate nothing but a couple bowls of chicken noodle and other soup all week. Actually, add about a gallon of 7-Up to that and you're right on.

Aaand, let's just pretend this is what I was doing all week.

I literally laid in bed ALL day EVERY day from Sunday after church to Saturday afternoon. I didn't go to school, to work, or outside. The couch and my bed became my permanent spot to spend my days, right in front of my laptop or the TV to run movies endlessly.

Make that 3 naps per day. Or maybe even 4 or 5.

Well it's a fresh new Monday now and I think I'm finally feeling back to normal! Ok, almost normal. I still have some weaknesses and am pretty dizzy but beyond that I feel just fine. Finally:)

This is how I believe we should all be able to face Mondays!
But mostly Mondays just have me feeling like this.

I have way too much homework and studying to get caught up on that it's not even funny but I intend to start on my goals again this week.

Hence why I may be blogging at this very moment...

I don't want to work my body too hard physically, (just because I am still fully recovering from being sick) but I will keep it low-impact I think. My sister and I have plans today to go play tennis and that sounds like a great start to me! Now I just need to run off to Walmart to get us some cheap rackets and tennis balls so we can play...

Now go off and have a great week yourself! Have a million-dollar-minion-attitude and I'm sure the week will be your best one yet:)

GOALS

Ok, here's the deal. I've set goals so many times and failed that sometimes it's hard to even try. But you know what? I can do hard things. Someone once said that you don't fail until you quit trying and I've always liked that. Maybe it's because I've failed so many times but maybe it's also because I'm not willing to give up. A brighter, new day will always come and the hope of change will continue to lift my spirits. So here's to another round of goal setting and seeing what I can achieve!

Nourished body, nourished soul, nourished life: lukbeautifood.comGoal #1: Spend 1 hour, 5 days per week being active.
This can be anything from a standard workout to playing tennis to hiking on some trails. I might even go so far as to say rollerskating at the rink for 2 hours would count:)

Goal #2: Eat regular meals.

With a crazy and busy work and school schedule, things have gotten out of control. I sometimes get in a small breakfast or lunch but mostly no. If I do, it's probably not the healthiest because I'm rushing and we all know how that goes. Then, I go all day without eating or stimulating my metabolism, then I eat late at night when I get home from work. This makes it harder to sleep well, stores extra fat because of bad timing with food, and just feels not good. I think that if I make sure to have a good breakfast and healthy lunch, with some light snacking throughout the day, this will help a lot!

Goal #3: SLEEP.
7 Ways To Sleep Better Tonight | Free People Blog #freepeopleI don't know about you but this past 6 months of having horrible sleep habits has honestly made it some of the hardest months of my life. It affects everything; mood, motivation, energy, I mean everything. I have got to be in bed by midnight every night and just figure out a way to get my studying in earlier. Maybe this means taking a temporary hiatus from FB and Instagram?  That or at least I can't be using it until the homework is all done!

Well, I'll report back in 1 week's time to see how it all goes. Which me luck!
